About me

Ava Rose Robertson is a dedicated student at Episcopal High School with a passion for academics, dance, and community service. An AP Scholar with Honor and a three-time recipient of the National Spanish Exam Award – Honorable Mention, Ava is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the National Honor Society, and the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. She is also a Wharton Global Youth Scholar and a 2023 Hollywood Vibe National Finalist for Dancer of the Year.

At Episcopal, Ava serves as a Senior Class Officer and Student Vestry Peer Leader, showcasing her commitment to leadership. She also works as an Academic Fellow in Math and Science, helping peers excel and organizing math tournaments through Mu Alpha Theta.

Ava’s passion for dance is evident through her work with Episcopal’s Dance Ensemble, where she choreographs and performs as a Dance Master Seminar Honors Student. She has trained at Tari’s School of Dance for over 10 years, dedicating 25+ hours per week to ballet and modern dance. As a former pre-professional ballerina and alum of The Ailey School’s Summer Intensive, Ava blends dedication and artistry.

Beyond school, Ava co-founded the Nourish for Now Non-Profit and volunteers with the Arts Council of Baton Rouge, teaching dance to different abled youth. She also advocates for The Crown Act Legislation and supports various community service initiatives, including a mission trip to Costa Rica.

Ava plans to pursue a double major in Economics (with a concentration in Finance) and Art History, aiming for an MBA. She aspires to work in finance within the fashion and art industries, focusing on ESG consulting, social impact investing, and sovereign wealth management. Her current research, on Sustainability and Ethics in the Fashion Industry, aims for presentation at regional and national conferences.

Ava Rose Robertson’s passion for dance is evident through her extensive training and achievements. For over ten years, she has trained at Tari’s School of Dance, dedicating over 25 hours per week to her craft as a company member and soloist. Her classical training in ballet and modern dance has shaped her into a versatile and skilled performer.

Ava’s talent and commitment have earned her national recognition, including being named a Hollywood Vibe National Finalist for Dancer of the Year in 2023. Her involvement with Episcopel’s Dance Ensemble further showcases her abilities, where she not only performs but also choreographs original pieces as a Dance Master Seminar Honors Student.

As a former Varsity Cheerleader, Ava has also contributed her choreography skills to Episcopel’s cheerleading squad, blending her dance expertise with team dynamics. Additionally, she was selected for The Ailey School’s Summer Intensive at the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre in New York, one of the most prestigious programs in the country. Although she declined an offer to join their year-round program, Ava continues to refine her skills at her home studio, demonstrating her commitment to both her academic and artistic growth.

Ava’s dance journey highlights her dedication, creativity, and ability to balance a rigorous training schedule while contributing to her school’s and community’s artistic life.

Community Service

Ava Rose Robertson is deeply committed to serving her community, both locally and internationally. As the Co-Founder and Co-Director of Nourish for Now, a nonprofit organization, Ava leads efforts to provide essential resources to families in need, demonstrating her passion for social impact and leadership.

In partnership with the Arts Council of Baton Rouge, Ava teaches dance to differently abled youth, combining her love for dance with her dedication to inclusivity and empowerment. Her advocacy work includes supporting The Crown Act Legislation through the Baton Rouge Chapter of Jack and Jill, Incorporated, where she promotes anti-discrimination measures for natural hairstyles, ensuring equal rights and representation.

Ava’s commitment extends to volunteering with the Baton Rouge Symphony League’s Les Jeunes Amies and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, where she donates her time and efforts to support local cultural and community initiatives. These activities underscore her dedication to improving the well-being of others and contributing to the cultural life of her community.

Beyond her local engagements, Ava participated in an international mission trip with the First United Methodist Church Youth Group to Costa Rica, where she helped build infrastructure for communities in need. Ava Rose Robertson is conducting her Honors Thesis on “Sustainability and Ethics in the Fashion Industry”. Ava analyzes case studies of fashion houses and sustainable startups to evaluate their practices and provide actionable recommendations for creating responsible fashion businesses.
